The Austria based Gambian born international reggae-dancehall song writer, singer and disc jockey, Deejay Limbo had once again hit the newsstands after he had recently recorded a new duet with prolific Ghanaian artist called Stonebwoy.
The strictly dancehall song, named ‘You Got To Know’, was recorded, mixed and mastered by Ghanaian born producer, Sheriff Akatah of Sap Recording Studio in Austria. The promising hit song was officially premiered in The Gambia yesterday Monday, August 4th, 2014, on the popular Back Stage Show of ENC on Paradise FM.
The love song, which will be part and passel of Limbo’s eagerly awaited mixtape, is highly expected to rock the airwaves of both local and international music medium and of course, whet the appetite of the worldwide dancehall enthusiasts.
In an interview with Deejay Limbo, he said he got in contact with Stonebwoy through a friend of his whom he met in Austria and that the song was recorded during the international musician’s 2014 European tour. “The concept of the song is about a girl you want to marry, she drives you crazy that you want to put a ring on her finger,” cited the Latrikunda German born hit-maker, who was in 2012 offered a signing deal by American rap titan 50 Cent’s G-Notes Records label.
Asked how it was working with Stonebwoy, John Kwesi, aka Limbo The General, noted that the collaboration was a pretty great experience, adding that it motivated him to improve on his talent. Deejay Limbo described him as a very down to earth and funny guy.
Born to a Ghanaian father and a Gambian mother, the ‘Salute’ song pioneer will be coming back to The Gambia later this year to work on his projects and strengthen his fast growing fan base. He was quoted as saying: “The mixtape will be all about positive messages, love and entertainment because that is what music is all about.”
