Sanna Manneh, a 21-year-old man and a resident of Farato of the West Coast Region is seeking for financial assistance to undergo for overseas medical treatment.
Having started his basic schooling, Manneh’s academic pursuit took a u-turn at a tender age of eighteen when he started complaining of backache and difficulty in walking.
A medical report issued by the then Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital now Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in 2012 stated that the pain started suddenly at the back, then goes down irradiating to the legs increasing the intensity and severity which results in difficulty to walk.
In few months, the report added, the patient could not walk again losing the sensation and mobility at lower limbs.
The RVTH report, signed by clinical consultant Dr. Hernandez recommended overseas MRI study for young Sanna Manneh to confirm the working diagnosis, further treatment and management.
But like many others battling with debilitating ailments, the cost of treatment is pegged at a staggering forty thousand pounds, which is beyond the means of Sanna’s family. As they await urgent help, Sanna remains confined to his room, for he can no longer move on his own. Help in any small measure can go a long way towards restoring Sanna’s health and enable him complete his education.
