A wife and a mother of 3 girls: 11 years and 20 month old twins girls plus a full time job.
Yama Njie graduated with her third master’s degree last week. She earned her first Master’s degree with a dual concentration in Finance and Network Communications Management in 2012. She went back to School after she had her twin girls in January 2014 to pursue another Master’s degree. Half way through her program, she decided to do a double master’s degree. According to Yama, “It was the best decision that I made since I’m always looking into ways on how to challenge myself. ” She just obtained a Master’s in Information Systems Management and a Master’s in Project Management last week. “I was happy and proud to share the stage with my husband and my younger sister who both earned their double master’s degrees.”
Husband: Abdou R Cham – A SFC in the US Army still managed to go to school full time to earn a double master’s degree in Project Management and Human Resources Management despite all the challenges he faces being in active duty. Abdou said that he was motivated by his wife to pursue a Master’s degree. She’s a super woman and has been able to take care of the children, go to school full time and still have a professional career. On top of all that she graduated with honors with a GPA of 3.98. Just that is a motivation to me. I worked hard to make sure that I graduated with honors too. This is just the beginning as I plan on going back to school to pursue another degree. According to Abdou, he is still deciding between getting another Master’s or a doctorate. More to come.
